15 students & 15 design topics . . .

on the first official day of the spring semester’s holiday break, about thirty-five people gathered in the design center gallery to have a dialogue with our making meaning studio. the guest critics included brain kerr & jess fügler from quirky, as well as mm alumni endrit hajno & ian ciesla. the conversation shifted from topics of sustainable & aesthetic packaging designs, to educational concerns about children’s nutritional choices, to food design related to italian cuisine, to safety gear for women bicyclist, to motor sports vehicle design, to individual patient, post operational recovery stations for hospitals, to three dimensional abstraction related to art installation & performance art, to a design proposal for a 50 acre tiger reserve, to haptic responses to materials in a duality between hard & soft as well as, haptic responses to materials in relation to digital devices. our official photographer was id senior ryan thistle and he did a great job of documenting our mm venue. most of the photographs shown here are to his credit, thanks very much, once again ryan! as you can tell, we have had a number of interesting discussions at pratt institute, on march 12th for 15 id seniors & making meaning’s preliminary critique . . .
