in memoriam: daniel november, an iron man with a heart of gold . . .
pratt alumnus (a.a.s. 1963, b.id 1972) and full time professor in the department of industrial design, who had taught at pratt since 1986 died this autumn at the age of 75. a design educator extraordinaire, he was formerly with george h. kress associates, raymond loewy, francis blod design and walter dorwin teague associates. he also was former director of technical services for allergan optical and recipient of the 1980 industrial designers society of america bronze apple. former students recalled his sense of humor and no-nonsense approach to teaching and design that established him as an irreplaceable part of the industrial design community at pratt. a memorial will be held on october 24th at 6:00pm in the design center gallery.
